With the Camp Fire tragedy, Butte College is now offering brand new construction programs to train students to help rebuild our communities this fall. A Rebuild Scholarship is now available to students entering the new Rebuild Construction Programs starting August 26. This scholarship is open to full time students who are California residents or AB540 eligible who may or may not have attended college in the past and register for the Applied Construction, Construction Management, or HVACR programs.
The scholarship will cover tuition and fees, plus a $1,000 stipend for equipment/supplies. Interested students can apply now at 8n99.com/apply and once registered for the classes, students will be contacted about the scholarships and stipends.
“We are grateful to the Butte Strong Fund for partnering with us to offer a unique scholarship opportunity for 50 students who may have attended college in the past or not. The scholarship offers 50 students one year of paid tuition, fees, and an equipment stipend of $1,000 if registering for eligible new rebuild programs offered August 26. These scholarships will change lives and train students for jobs that help in the rebuild effort,” said Samia Yaqub, Butte College President.
The Butte Strong Fund was established earlier this year as a partnership of three major fundraising efforts by the North Valley Community Foundation, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and the Aaron Rodgers NorCal Fire Recovery Fund.
