Speech & Debate Team Named Tournament Champions at Final Fall Competition

The Butte College Speech and Debate Team ended their fall semester on a high note, clinching the title of Tournament Champions at their final competition of the semester. The team competed at the Bernacchi Invitational at Diablo Valle College on November 16 and 17, facing off against more than 17 other schools. Their exceptional performance also earned them a total of 30 individual awards across various categories.

This achievement further cements Butte College’s reputation for excellence in competitive speech and debate, thanks to the dedication and talent of its team members and coaches.

Upcoming Showcase:

The team will host their semi-annual speech performance showcase on Thursday, December 12, at 2:00 p.m. in The Nest on the main campus. This event will highlight some of their award-winning performances from the semester. Community members are invited to attend and celebrate the team’s accomplishments.
