International Student Admissions

To be considered for admission follow the steps below. Completed admission files will be processed in 5-7 business days (excluding holidays and weekends) . If admitted, you will receive an e-mail with a copy of your I-20 form along with an acceptance letter. The I-20, also called cetificate of eligibility, is the form that allows you to apply for F-1 student visa  at a U.S. embassy or consulate abroad. The original I-20 and acceptance letter are needed for the visa interview and you will receive instructions with options for shipping your original documents.  If you need help or have questions regarding the admission process, please contact us at  international@8n99.com

 
STEP 1: APPLICATION

STEP 2: ENGLISH PROFICIENCY 

Students must be able to read, write and speak English at a level necessary to actively pursue an academic program. English proficiency can be demonstrated by either taking a language proficiency test, completing the minimum level at a partner language program or by transferring a U.S. college equivalent course.

* Language proficiency documentation only applies if English is not your primary language

** Transcripts from a U.S. university/college showing completion of college level English (equivalent to English 2 at Butte College), with a grade of C or higher, may meet the Butte College English proficiency admission requirement. Please submit a copy of your  transcript for official evaluation.


STEP 3: FINANCIAL GUARANTEE & CURRENT BANK STATEMENT

Foreign students must present evidence of financial solvency. Fill out the Financial Guarantee Form below and submit it along with a bank statement (current within 3 months).

NOTE:  Students applying from Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ghana are required to mail     original bank statements directly from the bank to our office. The documents can be mailed to the address below:

 STEP 4: HEALTH STATEMENT

Butte College requires international students, applying from out of the U.S. only, to be free from Tuberculosis (TB). Submit your health statement or proof of BCG Vaccine.

 STEP 5: TRANSCRIPTS & OTHER DOCUMENTS ( For Transfers and under 18 students only)

Transfers: Students transferring from a U.S. school should submit the copies of the following:

a) unofficial U.S. transcript for admission purposes.

b)  current I-20.

c) visa & passport.

Under 18 : Students below the age of 18 ( whom will turn 18 during their first year at Butte College) are required to submit the following: 

a)  unofficial transcripts in English to verify the completion of secondary level/ high school education.

 STEP 6: PASSPORT

Optional – Submit a copy of your passport if available. This will help us when we create your I-20.
